Former Southend striker Tesfaye Bramble has been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a 19-year-old woman.
Bramble, 30, was arrested alongside his younger brother Titus, 29, after the alleged incident at a Newcastle hotel in the early hours of this morning.
The ex-Blues man, nicknamed “The Cat” after he went in goal for a 2-1 victory over Boston in October 2004, played for Southend between 2001 and 2005.
After leaving Southend, his career went swiftly downhill, and he last played for Felixstowe following spells with, amongst others, Stockport, Stevenage and Leiston.
