New striker, new danger

Southend have completed the month-long loan signing of Doncaster’s Waide Fairhurst – and he will be in contention for a start at Chesterfield on Saturday.
Blues’ first-choice front pairing Blair Sturrock and Barry Corr both look set to miss Southend’s first ever visit to the b2net stadium.
And Fairhurst, 21, could be in line for a starting berth. He scored five goals in ten starts whilst on loan to Shrewsbury last season, and has netted two goals in 12 games for Rovers.
However, Matt Paterson and Harry Crawford put their own respective cases with fine performances in the 3-1 win at Barnet.
Paterson bagged two goals, while Crawford’s guile and work-rate unsettled the north Londoners before he was forced to make way for Graham Coughlan after 51 minutes thanks to Bilel Mohsni’s needless red card.
Speedy 18-year-old loanee Nathan Jarvis is also in contention, while Scott Spencer seems to have fallen well down the pecking order at Roots Hall.
