One in, one out at Roots Hall

Southend have signed full-back Miguel Comminges from Cardiff and released Sofiane Zaaboub as Paul Sturrock sets about taking advantage of the January transfer window.
Comminges, who can play on both sides and in midfield, was Player of the Year at Swindon Town when Sturrock’s charges won promotion from League Two in 2008. He made 31 appearances for Cardiff, but has fallen out of favour in south Wales.
Sofiane Zaaboub will return to Algeria and play for Entente Sportive de Setif. He never managed to earn a regular place in the side and all too often flattered to deceive.
Comminges could make his debut in this afternoon’s clash with Cheltenham at Roots Hall if he receives international clearance in time from the Welsh FA.
