Sawyer set to re-sign for Southend

Woking’s official website has today claimed that Lee Sawyer is to return to Southend United.
The former Chelsea midfielder has been playing for the Cards having been released by the Stamford Bridge side in the summer.
He spent two loan spells at Roots Hall, once successfully in the autumn of 2008, and again at the beginning of the following season, where unfortunately he did not make such an impact.
The midfielder will plug the gap left by Josh Simpson’s departure to Crawley Town, if it is confirmed that he has indeed signed for the Shrimpers.
