Paul Sturrock is sweating over the fitness of striker Barry Corr – and admits that central defender Bilel Mohsni could come into his thinking as a makeshift striker against Macclesfield Town.
The fit-again Mohsni came off the bench with 13 minutes of Friday’s clash with Bury to go, and dived to head a 95th minute equaliser.
However, Harry Crawford, Scott Spencer and Matt Paterson are all available, and using Mohsni ahead of all of them would be the clearest indication yet that none have a future at Roots Hall.
Corr is struggling with a knee complaint that he picked up during the second half of Friday night’s 1-1 draw. Sturrock says a decision on whether to risk the 11-goal Irishman will be made close to kick off.
Macclesfield drew 2-2 at Roots Hall earlier in the season in an FA Cup replay, before winning on penalties. However, the Silkmen have failed to win in their last seven games.
