Kane to discuss pro deal

Young midfielder Kane Ferdinand has been rewarded for his fine form by being offered his first professional contract.
The 18-year-old has been a revelation since coming into the first team for his debut away at Oxford United on January 1.
Since then, he has been a regular in Southend’s starting line-up, and has been a major part of the run of form that has taken them from lower mid-table to within touching distance of the play-off places.
