Stadium named

31 Mar

Southend United will name their new ground the Sainsbury’s Colosseum, All At Sea can reveal.
The deal will be worth £750,000 to Blues over three years.
Chairman Ron Martin is behind the use of the unique term ‘colosseum’. He told AAS: “After the problems with the economic situation, revenue streams are essential.
“Also, the good name of the Club must be continued. So we decided colosseum would strike fear into the hearts of opponents.”
Mr Martin appeared to disregard the fact that if this were indeed a Roman metaphor, the lions might let the Christians off having not been paid on time for a couple of months.

I love the fact that having become so accustomed to ridiculous news coming out of the SUFC Ministry of Information that you felt the need to specify that this was an April Fools joke.
