VETERAN defender Graham Coughlan will come back into the starting line-up as Southend look to arrest their alarming slump at Port Vale.
The Shrimpers have lost their last five away matches with the latest reverse coming on Tuesday night when they lost 3-1 at Accrington.
Bilel Mohsni was sent off in that match and will be replaced by Graham Coughlan.
With Peter Gilbert ruled out for the rest of the season following surgery and Johnny Herd unavailable through injury, Luke Prosser is expected to face his former club, looking for a happier outcome than in the first fixture back in August, when he was taken off at half-time after a desperate display.
Harry Crawford will be back in contention after he missed Tuesday’s defeat with a cut to the face sustained last Saturday. Craig Easton could also come back into contention having returned to training today after missing recent matches with a calf injury.
Lee Sawyer is still missing with an ankle injury.
