Neil Harris snubs Southend

1 Jun

MILLWALL legend Neil Harris is believed to have turned down a move to Southend.
The Southend Echo revealed today that Blues were locked in talks with an unnamed Championship striker, but admitted the deal was complicated.
The South London Press reported today that Harris was a target of the Shrimpers, but that talks had broken down as Harris wants to stay and fight for his place at the Den.
34-year-old Harris is contracted to Millwall until the summer of 2012, and with Southend’s financial situation still precarious, the move would likely have hinged on the club allowing Harris to move on for nothing.
Harris’s family still lives in Southend, and he was mostly used as a late substitute for the Lions last season, scoring three times.
