THE protracted loan signing of midfielder Alessane N’diaye on a season-long loan is expected to be completed today. The versatile 6ft 5ins midfielder is being targeted by Paul Sturrock to increase his options in the centre of the park. A loan switch was first mooted earlier this month but has yet to materialise.
However, internet sources have said the deal is close to being finalised.
Rumours are also linking Southend to former Northampton midfielder Abdul Osman, who was released by the Cobblers this summer. Osman scored against Blues in the Cobbers’ 2-1 victory at Sixfields in September.
Today’s Southend Echo also claims Blues are in talks with a striker and a winger.
