Striker Barry Corr to miss season start

13 Jul

BLUES have been rocked by the news that last season’s star striker Barry Corr has been sidelined by a knee injury and will miss the beginning of the season, and possibly the whole of August.
Corr struggled at times with his fitness last year but despite niggling injuries, scored 21 times.
Fans had been looking forward to seeing him link up with Neil Harris in attack, but Corr has sat out of both Southend’s pre-season friendlies so far and the club has now confirmed he will be missing for the next six weeks.
It certainly rules him out of the opening game against Hereford, and means he will not complete a full pre-season.
Blair Sturrock is also struggling with an ankle knock he suffered by colliding with Bilel Mohsni during the last game of the season at Wycombe.
