Leonard travels up to Scotland

FULL-BACK Ryan Leonard has linked up with Southend United for their tour of Scotland this weekend.
The 19-year-old former Plymouth man has flown with the squad up to Edinburgh today.
However, winger Rohan Ricketts is not on the plane. The winger has said on Twitter that he is hoping to join up with the squad if a “fair” deal can be done to take him to Roots Hall.
Another trialist, Jake Thomson, has not been offered a deal at Southend. Former Southampton man Thomson played in both pre-season friendlies at Dartford and Wakering earlier in the week but apparently did not do enough to warrant a deal.
