SOUTHEND have turned down a bid from Peterborough for starlet Kane Ferdinand.
The 18-year-old has been interesting Posh boss Darren Ferguson and the newly promoted club recently tabled an offer for the young midfielder.
Sky Sports reported the bid to have been around £300k, although this has been disputed by Peterborough chairman Darragh McAnthony.
The Posh supremo insists he will continue to keep tabs on Ferdinand, who has just 22 senior appearances to his name.
He impressed after breaking into the Blues first team in January, and signed a new contract at the tail end of last season.
Southend may not be in a financial position to reject any significant bid for the youngster, with the club currently losing £80k a week.
