BLUES are close to completing a loan deal for a Premiership goalkeeper, according to the Southend Echo.
The news comes after it was revealed that Glenn Morris will miss around four weeks with the thigh strain he suffered during the first half of Saturday’s thumping victory over Torquay.
Morris was replaced with teenage debutant Daniel Bentley once Blues had a four goal cushion, but with Morris facing an extended period on the treatment table, Paul Sturrock has opted to bring in a loan goalkeeper rather than thrust the 18-year-old Bentley into the starting line-up.
Online sources suggest the deal is set to go through this afternoon.
